IOT changes Factories into Smart Factories..
“Smart” factories use “smart manufacturing” to gain production efficiencies, improve production quality and reduce time to market. Connected machines can now communicate failure points and collect data that can be used to improve predictive and preventative maintenance, which improves uptime.
Let’s Take
They have 16 machines in a single unit. Each machine produces plastic products continuously. Mostly companies gather the data from machines manually. This manual process leads to injection of errors in the data that is collected and hinders the visibility of real time data.
The 1st part of the solution of plastic moulding companies is to get their machines enabled for real time data gathering through any PLC enabled devices.
Once we are able to get real time data from each of the moulding machines we should be able to analyse each of the machines are able to optimally produce the required number of product against what has been scheduled as a requirement. In real time this will enable us to track the parameters that cost a tip in the production Quality or in Quantity.
